Yulia Pustoshkina Solo Exhibition
Opening Night - Thursday 13 December
6 pm - 9 pm
Yulia Pustoshkina presents a new artworks collection with her distinctive imaginative style called Folkloric Surrealism. Each oil painting reveals a story through its plentiful and meaningful details and composition. Her characters are animals and birds, flowers and plants. Their emotion-filled faces interact with each viewer. The more you look the more you see happening...
Earthly Delights is a collection of paintings inspired by the artist’s recent travels
around Spain and France. Think of abandoned ruins of medieval castles where life comes back with new imaginary inhabitants. Mystery is in the air. Think of medieval knights of Honor with their shiny armour on, they guard the walls of Alcazar. Some other paintings in this collection celebrate the native Australian flora. A story to discover is in every painting, a dash of humor is an absolute must!
Yulia Pustoshkina is a third generation artist, born in Russia, immigrated to Australia in 2001. Yulia’s present brush technique evolves from the earlier extensive practice of miniature painting. It is hugely influenced by traditional Russian art schools. Yulia has participated in numerous art exhibitions and shows in Australia and overseas with some art prizes and awards acquired during recent years of work.
