How to describe the photos by Swiss/Australian photographic artist Edmond Thommen?
Mysterious. Intriguing. Moody. Unpredictable. Sensual. Different. Unique. Fascinating. And very beautiful.
You have to look closely sometimes till the photograph releases a recognisable shape of a female figure hidden behind a veil of flowers or autumn leaves, a very special effect of blending images.
Many artists using photography offer limited edition prints of various numbering, but Edmonds photos are one-off works, unique pieces, like a painting or a sculpture.
Being at the gallery in person during the exhibition is the best way of introducing his work, to answer all the various questions. He can explain techniques and talk about the creative process.
